Permission as a Reality Gate

Permission is the institutional switch that turns a possible act into a recognized act. It decides who may act, under what name, through which interface, and under whose protection. The switch can be legal, technical, financial, medical, symbolic, social, or initiatic. Authorization makes a second reality

Institutions often debate truth while distributing authority. A license creates a recognized professional. A database status creates an eligible person. An approval turns a compound into a treatment. A compliance flag lets a transaction pass. An official disclosure gives an event a permitted public form. The action was physically possible before the decision; authorization determines whether institutions can recognize, fund, protect, or scale it.
